Some days ago, I got a project from doctor and healthcare community. The have an upcoming seminar and workshop event, and I was asked for visual identity and all the stationery stuffs. Initially they asked for a simple, minimalistic layout. Pretty much typical hospital-healthcare style.
Then there is a short booklet project for all the information for the participants.
I did the first draft and send them the pdf for review.
A few days later, they came back with feedback on the PDF. They do send the annotation in typical doctor prescription style; they write the feedback on the PDF in fully doctor's handwriting style that is difficult to read. It went consistently unreadable from from pages to last. I mean wtf. I might literally need to visit the doctor for a consultation for that writing.
Jokes aside, I always wonder, does all doctor does this? Why are they notoriously known for having bad writings? Just like in graphic design, communication should be as clear as possible. It should be even more critically important for healthcare. Why though? Or it's just a misconception?
